Aciphex (Rabeprazole) – stomach ulcer first aid

bg_float_homeStomach ulcer is a chronic disease which is associated with formation of ulcerative defects on the mucous membrane of the stomach.  This disease mostly affects men aged from 20 to 50 years old.  Stomach ulcer is characterized by chronicity and frequent relapses in spring and summer. A significant role in the development of the disease plays Helicobacter pylori bacterium, the vital activity of which leads to increase of gastric juice acidity. Permanent stress provokes nervous system disorder causing muscle and gastrointestinal blood vessel spasms. The nourishment of the stomach is disturbed and the gastric juice starts its pernicious effect on the mucous membrane which results in development of ulcer. Aciphex (Rabeprazole) is a medicine used for treating such conditions as duodenal ulcer in the period of exacerbation, stomach ulcer in the exacerbation phase, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and other conditions characterized by pathological hypersecretion.  Besides that, in combination with antibacterial medicines Aciphex (Rabeprazole) is used for eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with stomach ulcer or chronic gastritis associated with Helicobacter pylori.  Aciphex (Rabeprazole) should be taken in the morning before meal.  The dose for stomach ulcer in the exacerbation phase is 20 mg once a day during 4 weeks. The dose for duodenal ulcer is 10 or 20 mg once a day during 6 weeks; for H. pylori infection — 20 mg 2 times a day in combination with Biaxin (Clarithromycin) 500 mg/day and Augmentin (Amoxicillin) 1000 mg/day during 7 days.
