What is Parlodel (Bromocriptine) used for?
Parlodel (Bromocriptine) is used for treating menstrual irregularities, female infertility, lactation suppression( postnatal delectation, prevention of lactation after abortion, postnatal breast engorgement, lactational mastitis), innocent breast diseases and Parkinson’s disease.
Side effects Parlodel (Bromocriptine). During the initial stage of treatment such Parlodel side effects may manifest as nausea, dizziness, general weakness and vomiting; as a rule this symproms do not require interruption of the treatment. Parlodel (Bromocriptine) should be used with caution in patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases, stomach ulcer and psychosis. Most of side effects caused by Parlodel (Bromocriptine) become less intense or disappear as soon as the dose is decreased. The dosage of Parlodel (Bromocriptine) varies from 1.25 to 3.75 mg 2-3 times a day. If any side effects occur during treatment with Parlodel (Bromocriptine), the daily dose should be decreased and maintained on the same level within a week. As soon as the side effects disappear, the dose could be increased again. Parlodel (Bromocriptine) after meal. The duration of the treatment course depends on original illness.
